This is a piece I created to speak up about the role of skin color and how it has affected multiple cultures in the Asian community. Brown is beautiful and we should never have our worth be based on something as trivial as the color of our skin.

I Used to Dance

A collaboration with dancers of different styles and a cinematography team to create a dance film. This was inspired by my friends that have moved on from dance, but can't help but miss it. It is my way of saying that once dance becomes a part of your life, it will always stay with you. 

End of the Universe MV

David Michael Frank is a singer and songwriter that wanted to create an emotionally moving and beautiful video to accompany his song. He wanted the video to evoke the struggle of depression and fighting through dark times, but still allow room for interpretation for the viewer. I collaborated with him, the main dancer, and LAMP Productions to produce this music video.

My partner, James Riley, and I were selected to commission a new work for ROCK PAPER RADIO and The Slants Foundation's AZNxBLM, a collection of original art responding to the surge in anti-Asian hate crimes with determination and humanity along with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Madima is a Filipina music artist who wanted to create a music video that combined dance and ASL to bring her new song to life using movement.

Brandon Yang and I danced on Common Ground together. We collaborated with cinematographer, Jeremy Fabunan, to create a dance film that we wanted to be beautiful cinematically with a compelling story told through movement and partner work.

Before I Left

I teamed up with Jenna Keiper, a documentary film major, to create this concept dance video inspired by my mother's internal thoughts and struggles as she prepared to leave her whole life in Philippines to immigrate to America to give her children a better life. I pulled the audio from an interview with her I had done for a school project a few years back, and choreographed movement that reflected what was going through her mind as she stood on the beach for the last time in the Philippines.
